Right off the bat (really before the year started) 2017 is bringing my some big changes. I am moving from the safety and comfort of my "hometown" surrounded by family and friends I have had for years and I am heading to the bigger city. As I sat home sick on New Years Eve I took some time to think about 2016, this move, and what I want my life to be like in 2017. I remembered that Ann Voskamp had posted a free printable to fill out about what you would purpose to do in 2017. Seemed like a good place to start. So in 2017 I purpose to...
Embrace...change.
Engage...new friendships.
Be...around the table.
Believe...His best is yet to come.
Break...the "chains" of injustice.
Daily...give myself grace.
Do...more things outside.
Let Go...fully of hurt from the past.
Learn...new things, and put them into practice.
Live...this new life fully.
Give...hope! and Give glory to God.
Grow...in Him and Abide in Him.
I added Abide so I tied it into that last one. The word abide has come up a lot in my life lately and I know that I need to abide more fully in the Lord. I plan to look back on this list throughout the year to see how I am doing. I have been trying in the last few months to be better at self-reflection and I plan to carry that into 2017 with me. I also spent time that night thinking about the blessings that I had in 2016. Most of them are people or moments here that I will miss when I move...but I saved for last getting this new job, because it happened weeks ago and it is such a huge blessing. It really feels like God parting the Red Sea for me. Bringing me to something He has promised me for so long. Though it is bittersweet I am looking so forward to moving and starting a new job that I am so passionate about. Happy New Year!
