Today I was writing an outline for my story to tell at our bible study tomorrow morning. I was thinking about my time in Peru and what I could share from my time there. My mind suddenly went back to a sweet moment in a shack in Iquitos. It's another time I was telling my story. I remember when I finished that the woman I was talking to, Maria, said that she knew about Jesus but she wanted to know my Jesus. Sitting in my office today thinking about that moment I was thinking about how I could have those moments now. I don't need to be in a shack in another country where I may or may not speak the language to introduce someone to my Jesus. I could have those moments here by telling my story and living my life for Christ. When I told Maria my story I didn't use a lot of Christianese, or fill it with scripture, I just told her who Christ was to me and what He had done for me. That changed her life. The same way that Christ saved my life. And my story can still be the thing that opens someone up to Christ love and what He has for them.
